Brittney Taylor

PhD Candidate

Britt is a PhD candidate interested in studying the effects of pyric herbivory on understorey vegetation; particularly, whether macropod grazing and/or browsing influences the re-establishment and flammability of plants after fire. Using lab and glasshouse experiments, she also wants to understand the relationship between plant traits, plant palatability and plant flammability. In 2024, Britt completed a Master of Environment, where using palynology, she researched historical environmental and land use changes of a billabong along the lower Birrarung. Britt also has experience as a bushfire consultant, specifically in building and planning. Outside of work, Britt enjoys seeking out good coffee, serenading her neighbours with the tuba, and going to the park with her dog.
