Dan is an independent software developer and academic, building highly technical applications as the sole or lead developer in small teams. He is an expert in the C++ language and, as the owner of the company LightTwist Software, has written scientific software frameworks and has trained and coordinated teams of other developers for many years. He developed Uninet, a non-parametric Bayesian network modelling application. Within the FLARE team, Dan has been the lead developer of the FROST software framework. Dan likes walking about with his family, preferably along narrow streets in the heart of some bustling old city looking for the best wok noodles. A spot of live music in a downtown basement works too.
