Jing Chen is a PhD candidate whose research focuses on dynamic fire risk modelling for house loss in the wildland–urban interface (WUI). Her work aims to develop a multi-scale modelling framework capable of predicting fire spread and house loss evolution during WUI fire events in real time, ultimately contributing to more resilient WUI communities. Jing obtained her Master’s degree from Wuhan University in 2015 and spent about nine years working at a national building fire research institute in China. Her background is in fire modelling, fire risk assessment, and performance-based fire safety engineering. In her spare time, Jing enjoys reading and spending time outdoors, and values opportunities to explore nature.
