Project: Future Fires

What makes a good fire simulator?

Fire simulators have become an important tool for tactical and strategic fire management, as well as fire behaviour and risk research. This NHRA-funded project combines social science and natural sciences to understand how fire behaviour simulators are used in Australia and support their effective development – and importantly, effective use – into the future. To do this we will engage closely with fire managers from government, industry and academia to understand their experience and priorities.
