Grace Vielleux

PhD Candidate

Grace is a PhD candidate interested in studying the effects of fire severity on animals and their habitat. She wants to understand how severity impacts faunal abundance and what traits influence species’ resilience following a severe burn. She is also broadly interested in learning how fire influences animal behavioral plasticity, movement, and predation.  Grace graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelors in wildlife biology in 2021. After graduating, she worked for the forest service in California tracking spotted owls and northern goshawks. Then she worked in Oregon recording song birds in the Steens mountain wilderness. Grace has a deep appreciation for tacos, loves to watch movies, and knows one cool rollerblading trick.
